Our 10 favorite beaches on the Costa Blanca

Going to the beach is a very essential part of a holiday, right? Nothing beats a day of starfishing, with your favorite people and some tasty snacks and cold drinks. That’s why you don’t want to loose time figuring out to what beach you should go. We made a list of our favorite beaches on the Costa Blanca. They all have their winning features, it just depends on what mood your in.

El Campello (25 minute ride from our finca)
The beach of El Campello has a nice boulevard with endless options to eat. Our favorite spots are Seis Perlas, Restaurante Brel and Pizzeria La Espiga. The beach of El Campello is not very wide, but therefore quite cosy. Many local people visit this beach, which is nice if you want to feel like your actually in Spain (opposed to Benidorm for example). A few flats, but most buildings are low rise, which makes this a friendly beach town.

Sunbeds available for rent.

For dog owners: all the way at the end of the boulevards, dogs are also permitted to go on the beach.

Play de San Juan (25 minute ride from our finca)
This is a very wide and long beach. The boulevard is not as crowded as El Campello, but still has enough options for lunch or dinner. It does have some more high rise buildings. During summer you’ll also find some chiringuitos (bars) on the beach. Our favorite restaurant is Xaloc Lounge because they have many vegan (and gluten free) options.

Sunbeds available for rent.

Cala Coveta Fuma & Cala D’enmig (30 minute drive from our finca)
If you are looking for a small bay, these calas (bays) are your go to. During a fairly windless day these beaches are also good for snorkling. Besides the beautiful blue ocean and a pebble beach, there is not much more. So you pack your lunch and some cold beers and enjoy some pure vitamin sea.

Villa Joyjosa (45 minute ride from our finca)
We love this beach because of it’s brightly painted houses along the promenade. If you want to go out for lunch or dinner you also have plenty of options to choose from. Le Cabanon is one of our favourites.

Playa el Paraiso (40 minute ride from our finca)
This beach is not as crowded the three beaches we mentioned before. It doesn’t have a promenade, but during summer you’ll fine one chiringuito on the beach. If you walk to the left, you’ll find a rocky cliff that gives this beach some sort of raw, unspoiled appearance. The only downside are the apartment buildings in the back. Just stare at the ocean and you’ll forget they are there. 😉

No sunbeds available for rent

Playa Bol Nou (40 minute ride from our finca)
This beach is situated next to Playa el Paraiso. We love this beach, because it has no high buildings, no apartments… Just beach! You have to bring your own coolbox and umbrella though, because you won’t find any bars or restaurants.

Playa La Caleta (40 minute ride from our finca)
This beach is close to Playa Bol Nou. It has a nice chiringuito called La Cabaña where you can go for lunch or dinner. It’s a pretty unknown beach, so also during high season you will be able to find a spot here. The only downside might be that it’s a pebble beach. So if you have kids, it’s best to get them water shoes.

Playa L’Olla (50 minute drive from our finca)
Playa L’Olla  itself is not super extraordinary, but it has some really nice features. First of all it has restaurant right at the beach: Chiringuito El Cranc. You could literally touch the ocean if you want, which is quite extraordinary when it comes to restaurants at the Costa Blanca. Besides that, you’ll see two small islands emerge in the ocean. You can rent paddle board or a canoe if you want to visit the island (30 min ride). A real nice excursion!

El Portet (Moraira) 1 hour 10 minute drive from our finca
This is a very picturesque bay, surrounded by small restaurants and beautiful (low rise) holiday homes. It’s truly very scenic! We recommend you to only go here during low season though, because during summer it tends to get very busy here. Also, take your own umbrella, because there’s little shade on this beach. But it’s definitely worth a visit!

Cala Clemence (1 hour, 15 minute drive from our finca)
If you are looking for Ibiza vibes, this is the beach to go. It’s such scenic place and it has a very hip restaurant (also named Cala Clemence). Most beach bars on the Costa Blanca have plastic furniture, not this one! Bamboo everything! The restaurant is literally situated at the cliff, which guarantees a very exotic view. Great place for a romantic date!
